Class Location and How to Register
Classes are held at the Fred M. Packard Center, 4022 Hummer Road, Annandale VA 22003.

Discover the Art of Crochet
This two-session class for the absolute beginner will provide a brief introduction about what crochet really is. The students will learn about the tools and materials used in crochet, including how each is used, while exploring the materials. Students first learn how to comfortably hold the hook and yarn before moving on to learn the five fundamental stitches of crochet.
Students will each take home, mounted on a card frame, a beautiful ‘sample’ display of the stitches they have learned. Once you learn these five stitches, you will be able to make many fun and beautiful items.
Age 9 and up
Dates: July 19 and 26, 1:00 to 4:00 both days. This is a two-session class. Please plan to attend both days.
Cost: $25.00 for the two sessions

Wood Carving
The Northern Virginia Carvers guild offers a beginning carving class monthly (except July, November, and December).
Enjoy new skills in a meditative art. Be decorative or functional with wood carving as you grow and adventure indoors or outdoors with wood projects. All persons will take home a small wood carving project. Carvings vary from month to month.
Join them on the fourth Monday of the month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. to learn the basics of wood carving. (No class in July, November, or December.)
Minimum age is 16 (if under 18, a responsible adult must remain with the student at the class).
The cost of the class is $5.00. Pay in cash to the instructor. Preregistration required. See below for registration information.
